We offer a variety of solutions to best fit our clients’ needs by supplying compost and soils to their yards/job sites, assisting with soil testing and recommendations and taking care of their entire soil needs, from design to installation. Disposal services at our sites

If you’re a contractor, resident or municipality looking to dispose of organic waste, please visit our Wixon and SOCRRA sites, open year-round, where we process:

Yard waste

• Leaves
• Grass clippings
• Small twigs and tree trimmings
• Wood chips
• Garden debris smaller than 2 inches in diameter.

• Brush
• Small bushes
• Roots and root balls
• Tree stumps (5ft or smaller in diameter)
• Logs (5 ft or smaller in length)
*No pressure treated wood is accepted (i.e. lumber, 2 x 4, decking boards, wood fencing or any other wood that has been treated or has nails in it)

  • BPI certified products such as compostable plates, cups, cutlery, and liners.

Cannabis waste:

We accept cannabis waste according to Michigan's Marijuana Regulatory Agency (MRA).

Delivery available

We can deliver 3 yards or a gravel train, depending on your needs. Pick-up and delivery in Metro Detroit available. Our delivery options are:

  • Small delivery: Up to 8 yards
  • Mid-size delivery: Up to 25 yards
  • Semi-truck delivery: 30 yards
  • Gravel-train: 50 yards

The delivery fee is based on the exact location. Contact us to schedule a delivery and receive your soil within 48 hrs.

Terms and conditions of soil deliveries:

  • Delivery within 48 hours in Metro Detroit.
  • The delivery fee is based on truck size and exact location.
  • Payment method: Credit and debit card (checks only available for commercial deliveries).
  • Soil will be dumped in the desired spot determined by the customer if weather conditions allow. A flat surface and solid ground are necessary for dumping.
  • Driver will inspect the site and determine the safest spot for soil dumping.
  • Small delivery with dump truck is the only option where driveway dump is available.

We recommend covering the soil if it isn’t used within 24 hours.

Commercial dumpster rentals for yard waste, brush and logs, food scraps and other organic waste are available in Metro Detroit for commercial generators.

Free services for Wixom, Rochester Hills and SOCRRA member communities' residents

As a small, family-owned business, staying connected to our community is important. The success of Spurt could not be possible without the support of residents, local businesses, and the local government.

If you are a Wixom, Rochester Hills or SOCRRA member community resident, you can access the many benefits we offer at Spurt. These free services include:

Wixom site:

  • Free yard waste, brush, and tree disposal.
  • Free food scraps drop-off to help you achieve your sustainability goals.
  • Free pick-up services:
    • STA Certified Compost and Mulch.

SOCRRA site:

  • Free yard waste disposal.
  • Free pick-up services:
    • STA Certified Compost.

How does it work? It is very easy; you can visit our facilities located at:

  • Wixom: 2041 Charms Rd, Wixom, behind the Department of Public Works (DPW) building.
  • Rochester Hills: 1741 School Rd, Rochester Hills.

All you need to do is check in at the office, show a proof of residency and we will guide you to the residents’ area where you will be able to dump yard waste and pick up compost and it is completely free. This is a self- service benefit, which means that you need to bring your shovel and load your vehicle. These free services are available only for residents. There is a fee associated with disposal and compost pick up for commercial entities.
